David Cachón captures an extraordinary mountain bike moment during a solar eclipse

Two-time Biketrial World Champion and content creator David Cachón has taken on a unique visual challenge, capturing a spectacular photograph in which a mountain bike trick is perfectly aligned with the eclipsed Sun.

The image was captured near Calatayud, Zaragoza, Spain, following weeks of meticulous planning and coordination to make the most of the few precious seconds when the eclipse, the rider’s movement and the camera position aligned perfectly.

The project was developed together with Spanish photographer Fernando Marmolejo and Danish photographer Daniel Villadsen, bringing together their experience and creativity to create an image where sport, nature and astronomy meet in a single frame.

The challenge went far beyond simply executing the trick. The team had to precisely calculate the Sun’s trajectory, the exact position of the photographers, the location, lighting conditions and timing of every element. All of these factors had to come together within a fleeting and unrepeatable moment.

The result is a one-of-a-kind photograph that transforms a natural phenomenon into a powerful piece of visual storytelling.

With this latest production, David Cachón continues to develop projects that combine adventure, photography and mountain biking, taking the sport beyond competition and transforming it into a medium for storytelling, exploration and artistic creation.
