The course is set for further growth – commitment to Austria as a production location
XeNTiS is building a new state-of-the-art production plant and a competence center for lightweight construction on an area of around 6,000 m2 in Voitsberg. With an investment volume of about € 4.3 million, a production area of about 1,500 m2 and office space of about 500 m2 will be created. “This area will enable the growth in personnel and space that we need to serve our global customers,” says CEO KR Ing. Otto Kresch. Completion is scheduled for the end of September 2021.
XeNTiS has been setting new standards in carbon rim construction for almost two decades. With this in mind, the Austrian company with its 25 employees develops and manufactures wheels for cycling as well as components for the automotive industry from the high-performance material CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced plastic) in inimitable form and function. This meanwhile very diversified product range is rounded off by ultra-light rims for wheelchairs as well as handbikes.
XeNTiS was founded in 2002 in Rosental an der Kainach. In 2011, the Kresch family took over the insolvent company, which already had an excellent reputation in the high-quality wheel sector. Processes were optimized and modernized, strict quality guidelines were introduced and the sales department was set up worldwide in order to drive the company’s steady growth and bring unique products to the market. Since then, international professional and amateur triathletes, road cyclists as well as mountain and now also e-bikers have placed their trust in the durable and high-quality products from XeNTiS in almost all countries in Europe, in large parts of Asia and also in the USA.
Indispensable in the further development of the products have always been and still are the experiences of successful athletes and the know-how of numerous long-time XeNTiS employees. Together and in close cooperation, new ideas and requirements are conceptualized using state-of-the-art CFD analyses, tested in wind tunnel and field tests, and then transferred to series production and market readiness. Just recently, for example, the MARK3 SL product (SL for “super light”), the further development of the XeNTiS all-time classic in lightweight construction, was successfully launched on the market. Worth mentioning because this wheel is manufactured in the so-called monocoque construction, which in turn means: it consists of 100% carbon fibre. The result is uncompromising, unique and sets new standards.
To maintain this uncompromising approach and this market lead generated over the decades or to push it further, it is necessary without any ifs and buts to invest in a new plant according to the most modern standards and guidelines in the home region of XeNTiS, the district of Voitsberg. “This is the only way we can continue to be successful and create new jobs. And in times like these, this is more important than ever before” says CEO KR Ing. Otto Kresch.
Governor Hermann Schützenhöfer is also pleased about the investment in a new production site in Voitsberg: “With their multi-million investment in a new plant, the Kresch familyof entrepreneurs is not only further developing XeNTiS Entwicklungs- und Produktions GmbH, but also the entire business location of Voitsberg. In times like these, this gives confidence that we will succeed in a comeback of the economy and that as many people as possible will have work again.”
The project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
